Goodbye Yankee

He was a great-hearted ol'guy and family guardian for thirteen years. I held him as he was put down; the last part to cease moving was his tail.

  • Yup; dogs are one of the few animals that make their living by being a friend, and they're good at it.

  • It seems that the older dogs are the most painful to lose.  Our terrier was 17 years old when we had to put her down.  They take a little piece of our heart when they go.

  • Thank you, guys.

  • So sorry to hear this. Praying for you.

  • Losing a faithful pet and friend is heart breaking. I hope God gives us back our pets in heaven.

    Your drawn tribute is great.

  • So sorry for you to lose a friend. :-( But I'm glad you had many happy memories with him.

  • Please accept my deep sorrow for your loss.
